Ways to Support the Study
The WISDOM Study is a community effort, supported by government grants and philanthropic gifts. You don’t have to be a scientist, doctor or participant to make a difference. There are many ways you can support our mission to raise awareness about breast cancer risk and improve how breast cancer is screened and prevented—especially for those at highest risk.
Give the gift of helping women learn their risk.
WISDOM has made remarkable progress—enrolling nearly 100,000 women from all backgrounds across the country. Together, we are changing the future of breast cancer prevention and early detection. But we’ve reached a critical juncture. To continue offering the benefits of the study to more women, we need additional support.
Each genetic test provided through WISDOM costs the study more than $250. These costs are not paid for by our federal grants. Donations to WISDOM go directly toward covering this cost—helping more women learn their individual risk for breast cancer and take steps to reduce it.
Each gift fuels our nationwide effort to improve breast cancer screening, enable earlier and more accurate detection, and ensure that all women—regardless of background—can benefit from insights this study provides.
We gratefully accept gifts of any size.

Enroll in the study.
If you are between the ages of 30-74 and have never had breast cancer, you can enroll. You’ll share information about your breast health (through annual questionnaires, an optional genetic test, and breast imaging reports) and we’ll provide you with detailed information about your risk, personalized screening recommendations, and guidance on risk-reduction.
